Eco2Air® Tower
The iconic lung of technology and design for a more sustainable city. Merging technology, design and nature, the Eco2Air® Tower is the air purification tower that reduces the average level of inhaled fine dust by 95%. Presented during Milan Design Week 2021 as one of the installation part of the exhibition curated by Rossana Orlandi for her international project RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, it is one of the most ambitious and representative projects of the Fervo Group.

Eco2Air® Tower, the air purification tower over 4 metres high, powered by Eco2zone and designed by Pininfarina Architecture.
With a treated air flow of around 15,000 m3 per hour, the tower designed by Eco2zone reduces the average level of inhaled fine dust by around 95%. In addition to being purified, the air undergoes an ionisation process that "revitalises" it, creating an optimal microclimate around the tower.

We collect graphite and transform it
Eco2Air® Tower is able to collect and retain the graphite found in fine dust in the air, so that it can be made into new objects, such as tennis rackets and pencils. Around 30 tennis rackets and over 2,000 pencils can potentially be made a year using this method.
Skin in recycled plastic, made using a 3D printer
Skin in recycled plastic, made using a 3D printer
Eco2Air® Tower is covered with a “skin” composed of a 3D printed recycled plastic superframe and satin metal panels, on which videos and data are projected in perfect harmony with music to reproduce the rhythm of human breath.
The structure is made of recycled plastic. The culprit of pollution is not the use of plastic, but its abuse.
A 3D printed recycled plastic fibre forms the fluid lines of the structure, integrating them into the natural environment. The components of the installation are arranged around a tree to help improve the environment with an urban air purifier, a water sprayer and a circadian lighting system.
Technology, design and nature
Technology, design and nature are combined in a dynamic laboratory of ideas to seek the most innovative, harmonious and sustainable solution that can generate value and well-being for the natural environment, people and the community in a symbiotic and cohesive manner.
The way of breathing in the smart city has been revolutionised with Eco2Air® Tower, the air purification tower more than 4 metres high and measuring 2 metres at the base, designed by Pininfarina Architecture.
With a flow rate of treated air of about 15,000 m3 per hour, the tower designed by Eco2zone reduces the average level of inhaled fine dust by 95%, from 2.25 g/h to 0.25 g/h.
In addition to being purified, the air also undergoes an ionisation process that "revitalises" it, creating a microclimate around the tower where environmental parameters, such as temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, are restored to optimal levels, benefitting people and their wellbeing.
The structure
The structure, called Urban Lounge, was created as part of RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, the international project organised by Rossana Orlandi, director of the namesake gallery, which aims to raise awareness on the reuse and recycling of plastic.
Urban Lounge is designed as a responsive public space capable of exploiting the specific local climate and surrounding environment to maximise user comfort and implement active microclimate mitigation strategies. Outdoor comfort is influenced by environmental parameters, such as solar radiation, humidity, air quality and wind speed. Urban Lounge manipulates these parameters to influence outdoor comfort.
"The adoption of the Eco2Air® Tower system in cities makes it possible to recreate an optimal microclimate in its immediate surroundings. The tower uses high efficiency filters for fine particles and ionising bars to draw in air from the top and emit it filtered of pollutants."
